Welcome to the East Lake Elementary 2008-2009 school year. We are entering our 4th school year and what an exciting year it will be! For those of you not familiar with our organization, the PTA is a nationwide advocacy group that speaks on behalf of children on the local, state and federal levels. PTA has planned numerous activities and programs to enhance and enrich your child's experience as an East Lake Eagle. We also offer exciting programs like Safety Night, All Pro Dads, and Reflections - an arts recognition and achievement program for students. |

Box Tops Back to School Challenge: Boys vs. Girls |

 You’ve collected Box Tops all summer long and the time has finally come to see who rules the school. Simply note Boy or Girl on the collection sheets, envelopes or baggies of Box Tops you send in. The last day to turn in Box Tops for this contest is Friday, October 3rd. For every Box Top you submit, you earn 10 cents for our school. It may not seem like much, but if every student sends in just one Box Top per week we could earn over $3,000 by the end of the school year.

 If you didn't have a chance to stop by and visit us at the logo table at Meet Your Teacher, please visit us on the PTA website. For your convenience, our site features our school logo merchandise. We offer a great selection of youth tees and polos, and also tees and polos in adult sizes as well. Simply print out the Fall 2008 Logo Order Form from our site, fill it out and send it in with your check made payable to East Lake PTA. For embroidery orders, print out Embroidery Form and choose the style you would like.

 It’s that time of year again! PTA Membership month is September. For only $5.00 for each individual membership, you will each receive a $5.00 coupon from Publix. Remember moms: dads, grandparents, kids, and neighbors can join too. The top 4 classes with the highest participation of membership will receive an ICE CREAM PARTY!

Sally Foster Fundraiser Starts August 29th |

Did you know last year the PTA provided more than $15,000 for the media center, classroom materials, and science lab? These programs would simply go unfunded without the financial support of the PTA. With the recent cutbacks in educational funding, the PTA's role in providing resources for the classroom is more important than ever. Due to economic challenges many families are facing this year and the demands multiple fundraisers place on you and your child, the PTA has decided to hold only one fundraiser for the school year. But to be successful, the PTA is relying on your help to make this sole fundraising effort a success - by contributing both your time as a volunteer and by ensuring this fundraiser meets our target goal of $15,000. Please support the PTA's efforts to make this fundraiser a success. |

Chick-fil-A Spirit Nights |
 Chick-fil-A Spirit Nights will be held the last Thursday of every month. Each month you will receive a Spirit Night coupon for Chick-fil-A in Waterford Lakes Town Center. Present that coupon when you give your order and Chick-fil-A will donate 10% of that evening's sales back to East Lake. It's a fun and yummy way to get together with classmates and earn money back for our school. Orange County is faced with a year of tremendous growth, limited funding, but yet still challenged with providing exceptional education to our children. You can help by providing your own talents and time to East Lake Elementary as an ADDitions School Volunteer.
What is ADDitions? In a nutshell, it is the Volunteer Program for Orange County Schools. ADDitions volunteers offer an extra set of hands, a creative mind and an enthusiastic smile to help our teachers, staff and students reach their highest potential. Together, we can help create a positive, secure and nuturing learning environment where children develop citizenship, learn responsibility and achieve academic success as they acquire skills for lifetime learning.
